  1. Abduction of shoulder joint up to 0-15 degrees
  2. Both supraspinatus and deltoid are involved in the initiation of abduction and continuation of abduction.

Deltoid tubersity of humerus

Action

  1. Abduction of arm at shoulder joint (upto 90 degree )
    • Anterior fiber – Flexor and medial rotation of arm
    • Posterior fiber – extensor and lateral rotation of arm
