Introduction

The word ‘Pathology’ is derived from two Greek words—pathos meaning suffering, and logos meaning study.

Goitre

Goitre are defined as the enlargement of thyroid caused By hyperplasia and hypertrophy of follicular epithelium that way responsible to thyroid hormone deficiency.

AIDS

The word AIDS stands for Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome. This means deficiency of immune system ,acquired during the life time of an individual indicating that it is not a congenital disease .the initial recognition AIDS in the United State in 1981.

Inflammation

Inflammation is local response of living mammalian tissue to injury from any agent which could be microbial , immunological , physical or chemical agent .

Malaria

The disease is endemic in several parts of the world , especially in tropical Africa, parts of South and Central America, India, South-East Asia, mainly in tropical and subtropical region of world .

Myasthenia Gravis 

Myasthenia gravis is neuromuscular disorder. In this disease mainly affected skeletal muscle.  In this disease acetylcholine receptor (AChR) in the motor end plates of muscle are damaged.

Occupational Lung Diseases or pneumoconiosis ( pneumo = LUNGS; conis = DUST in Greek) is a term used for lung Diseases caused by inhalation of ducts, mostly at work, these diseases are called dust diseases.

Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is an example of a granulomatous inflammation response ( a type of chronic inflammation in humans) .Tuberculosis bacillus or Koch’s bacillus is called mycobacterium tuberculosis.It causes tuberculosis in the lungs and other tissue of the human body .it is discovered by Robert koch in 1882 .

Leprosy 

Leprosy or hasen’ disease is a chronic non fatal infectious disease ,which is caused by mycobacterium leprae which closely resemble to mycobacterium tuberculosis but it is less less acid fast.

Lung abscess

Lung abscess is a collection of pus within the tissues of the lungs ” liquefaction necrosis ” .

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection in which the air space filled with fluid lead to inflammation of the lungs.

“Consolidation ” (meaning solidification ) used for the gross and radiologic appearance of the lungs

Osteoarthritis
