Pregnancy is a period in life where a mother carries a fetus in a worm or uterus providing nourishment and shelter for their growth and development. It lasts for 40 weeks, or just over 9 months. The 9 months of pregnancy are divided into three segments called trimesters.

1.First trimester (week 1 to week 12)

2.Second trimester (week 13 to week 28)

3.Third trimester ( week 29 to week 40)

Stages of Pregnancy 

Week 1 to Week 12

Signs and symptoms ;
  1. During the first few weeks of the pregnancy, the period becomes very weak losing little blood. 
  2. Vomiting and morning sickness day and night around week 4 and week 6.
  3. Feeling tired and lazy during the 12 weeks of pregnancy period.
  4.  Increase urination and increase pee time per day.
  5. Enlargement and development of beasts due to increased number of fat cells.
  6. Strange emotions ,smells lead to vomiting and eating less. 
Placental changes
  1. During a few weeks of pregnancy, the embryo attaches to the yolk sac providing nourishment.
  2. Placental formation: Embryo is surrounded by fluid inside the amniotic sac and the outer layer of this sac develops into placenta.
  3. Nervous system development: Neural tube form(brain and spinal cord), At this stage, the embryo is around 2mm long.
  4. Heart formation: The Fetus has some development of heart tube. 
  5. Folic acid prevents spina bifida. You should starts taking it as soon as you find out you’re pregnant.

Week 13 to 28 

Signs and symptoms ;
  1. There is a disappearance of symptoms like nausea and fatigue.
  2.  Your abdomen will expand as baby continues to grow.
  3. You will feel your baby beginning to move!
  4. Aching Body mainly at the back, abdomen, groin, or thigh pain
  5. Darker skin near the nipple area.
  6. Numb or tingling hands, called as carpal tunnel syndrome
  7. Swelling of the ankles, fingers, and face. ( If it occurs suddenly then consult a doctor ) .

Week  29 to 40 

Signs and symptoms ;
  1. Women with breathing difficulty.
  2. Heartburn
  3. Hemorrhoids
  4. Trouble sleeping
  5. Baby “dropping”, or moving lower in your abdomen
  6. Swelling of the ankles, fingers, and face.
  7. The baby is getting bigger and it is putting more pressure on organs of mother.

What are the  symptoms of pregnancy  ?  

The most common symptoms noticed in pregnant ladies are as follows :

  •  Period missing: If you don’t have your period then it is an identification of being pregnant but  Sometimes irregular menstruation can occur for other reasons so it might be a misleading symptom. 
  • Increased urination: During pregnancy,  you are intended to go more to pee. 
  • Morning sickness: It can occur at any time of the day or night, and often begins one to two months after you become pregnant. While cause of nausea during pregnancy isn’t clear, pregnancy hormones likely play an important role.
  • Sleepiness:  Fatigue ranks high among early symptoms of pregnancy. However, a rapid rise in levels of hormone progesterone during early pregnancy might contribute to the fatigue.

Other common symptoms are Moodiness, Bloating, Cramping, Constipation, Nasal congestion, and Food aversions, etc. 

What is a pregnancy test kit? 

The pregnancy test kit is used to identify whether you are pregnant or not. A sample of urine or blood is taken for this test. During pregnancy a specific hormone is released in urine and blood called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) produced in the body. 

How to use it? 

First Method 

  1.  Take sample for at least 7-10 seconds be sure that an adequate sample is collected by testing device.
  2. Re-cap the device
  3. Place it horizontally on clean, flat surface.
  4. Wait 5 minutes for test to finish processing.

Second method 

  1.  Collect urine into a clean container.
  2. Dip half of absorbent pad for at least 10 seconds.
